#70: A conversation with Gary Vaynerchuk

Gary Vaynerchuk went from wine retailer to a one-man social media empire over the past decade.

Gary reached out to me via Twitter as he was a listener to the NextMarket podcast, and suggested we connect. I was happy to, as I've been reading Gary's pieces on Linkedin and wanted to talk to him about his thoughts on where we are in the social media space, the cynicism around social media "experts", and which platforms he is investing in for his business and what he suggests for others.

We also talk about:

Sound as a social platform
-Instagram and how he uses it
-The Linkedin Influencer program
-How he sees podcasting as a medium
-His early efforts around WineLibraryTV and being an early arriver to YouTube
-His book deal and whether he'd consider self-publishing
-The early days of blogging
and so on!
